5 Digital Marketing Tools Every Brewery Should Be Using
When it comes to marketing your brewery, there’s hundreds if not thousands of tools & softwares to choose from. In my experience, I always went back to a handful that seemed to drive the most results. In this blog I will cover just 5 of those tools but if you would like to see
When people are looking for a new brewery, bar or restaurant to visit, most people start with a quick Google search to see what’s nearby. A the top of the page is an area of business listings next to a map of the local area. How do you get your business to show up in those results? You need to create a Google My Business account.
Google My Business is a free business listing from Google. It allows you to provide details and photos of your business, including your location, services, menus and products. It even has a social media like feed to add your posts to.
If your business hosts events, you should consider add your event details to one or both ticket websites like Eventbrite or Meetup. The reason this is important is because it will sync with Google Events and show up when people search what to do in their location.
3. Instagram Reels
As Instagram continues to evolve, short form video is at the current forefront with their Instagram Reels format. It is there version of “TikTok” and is extremely important to growing your page. It is simple and fun to use so don’t overthink it! Because it is a new format, Instagram’s algorithm favors accounts that use new products.
Therefore, your posts can receive more organic reach. Plus, Instagram now has a tab just for Reels which means that your videos have are more likely to be seen by people not yet following your account. In a time when organic reach is low on platforms, this is very powerful. Through my experience, I have found that their is a recipe to making a good Reel, which involves great content, the right audio/music, using filters & effects, watch time and experimenting!
4. Text Marketing Platform
It may sound old school or even annoying…but text message marketing is very powerful, especially for breweries. In my experience, it was used in moderation & for specific things like BOGO deals & promoting big events. There are a variety of platforms to choose from, so you will have to see which fits your needs the best. I’ve used TxtSignal for clients in the past and it was fairly easy to use. Plans average between $39-150 on TxtSignal.com.
This suggestion might upset some brewers (nobody likes to read negative comments about their work) but for marketers, Untappd is a very powerful tool. Not only can you see what people are saying about your beers (good & bad) but it’s also a powerful tool that can help you display your taplists on your digital screens, tvs and website. You can also list & display your upcoming events, menus and more.
Outside of the taproom, people can find your beers when using Google to search for beer reviews. Customers can tag themselves on the app and rate your beers.
Another thing I liked to use Untappd for was to find and screenshot positive reviews and create branded graphics to share on social media.
